Our Mission
Classical Christian Grand Tours exists to help students encounter the history of Western civilization and the Christian faith not merely as facts on a page, but as a living inheritance they can walk through, touch, and see.
We believe the Grand Tour, long the capstone of a classical education, is one of the most powerful tools available to schools and co-ops that want their students to understand where they come from, what they have inherited, and why it is worth preserving.
Why We Started
Classical Christian Grand Tours began with a parent and school founder who traveled on two Grand Tours and saw both their promise and their gaps. The places were extraordinary. But too often students were sent into a museum with little more than a meeting time, or spent days at sites with no clear connection to anything they had studied. Some of the most important parts of the story, like the Reformation, were missing entirely.
The question became: what would a Grand Tour look like if it were designed with the same care as any other course in a classical Christian school? A tour with a thread running through it, sites chosen for reasons, structure at every stop, and students who come home having made sense of what they saw.
Classical Christian Grand Tours is the answer we've been building ever since.
What We Believe
A Story, Not a Sampler
A Grand Tour should follow the story of how the Christian faith met the classical world, transformed it, and passed it down to us. Every stop should be a chapter in that story.
Education Through Place
Some things can only be understood in person. We design every tour around moments of real encounter: with beauty, with history, and with the faith.
Rigor and Joy
A Grand Tour is a course, not a vacation, with preparation, assignments, and a final project. It should also be one of the most joyful experiences of a student's school years.
Partnership With Educators
We work alongside teachers, administrators, and parents, not around them. Your curriculum guides the tour, and our job is to serve your school's educational vision.
Who We Are
Eric Letsche
Founder
Eric Letsche is the founder of Classical Christian Grand Tours and one of the founders of Summit Classical Christian School. He and his wife have four children who have received a classical Christian education. Three of them have gone on Grand Tours, and Eric traveled with two of those tours, experiences that shaped Classical Christian Grand Tours' approach.
A lifelong student of history, Eric has traveled extensively and taught at history conferences. By profession, he is a project manager, bringing the planning, structure, and attention to detail that a well-run Grand Tour requires.
Statement of Faith
We affirm the historic Christian faith as summarized in the Apostles' Creed and the Nicene Creed, and we hold the Holy Scriptures to be the inspired and authoritative Word of God.
